I was unaware of this particular publication, but I do know that Cardinal Wiseman wrote on the lives of several Popes of the 18th and 19th centuries, I believe in one book. I did actually see a copy of this for sale on the internet,it was quite expensive. With reference to your comment re the Holy Ghost Fathers, you may well be correct although I think the desperate poverty of so many of the population, was a major factor and reason for their foundation.
